Senior Enterprise Risk Management Analyst

Assists in the planning, development, and implementation of the Bank’s Enterprise Risk Management function to include business process analysis, risk assessment programs, and development of key risk indicators and service standards for the Bank’s lines of business.

Serves as business-focused, value-added partner to the Bank’s business units with respect to risk management issues.

Collaborates with and provides guidance to the business units to ensure complete and accurate analysis and documentation of key financial reporting control processes.

Communicates the requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley Sections 302 and 404 to Bank staff and helps train staff in understanding related requirements, including the use of software for Sarbanes-Oxley and risk assessment activities. Supports the establishment of methodologies to manage the Section 302 and Section 404 certification and assertion processes efficiently.

Maintains and expands the analytical tools and software used for risk assessment and reporting activities.

Develops an understanding of risk and its potential effects on the Bank, maintains a working knowledge of the Bank’s policies, and understands the organizational structure of the Bank. Remains aware of the issues and concerns of outside regulatory bodies and their effects on the business.

Develops a sound foundation of knowledge about the Bank’s business units, including general economic conditions, industry trends, and product specific issues. Applies this knowledge for the benefit of the Bank’s Enterprise Risk Management Program.

Assists in the development of new tools and techniques to improve key risk management processes used by business-line management to monitor risk within their area.

Assists in periodic Bank-wide risk assessments to evaluate the Bank’s ability to meet its strategic goals within established risk, regulatory, and internal policy parameters. Primary emphasis is placed on interest-rate risk, market risk, credit risk, liquidity risk, business risk, and various types of operations risk. Assists in the updating of risk assessments and the preparation of the annual Bank-wide risk assessment that is presented to the board of directors.

Assists in risk management projects to help better calibrate risk models and parameters.

Assists in the Bank’s SOX 404 compliance effort; reviews documentation; determines appropriate courses of action for identified deficiencies; develops and recommends appropriate processes, policies, and procedures surrounding SOX 404 compliance and assists in managing the process to ensure timely completion on an annual basis.

Assists with developing processes for monitoring controls and for evaluating the inherent risks of new products and/or activities at the point of implementation. Analyzes month-to-month changes in the Bank’s risk position.

Reports and analyzes risk characteristics of the business units with respect to all risk types.

Documents, evaluates, and improves the design of risk-related reports.

Improves access to and quality of data used.

Becomes proficient with various in-house transaction systems.

Interacts with business units to help provide additional reporting and insight.

Conducts other projects and tasks as assigned by the Manager of Enterprise Risk Management Services.
REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or other relevant business discipline and a minimum of seven years of relevant experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
