About us:
In 1977 Walter Herding established the Herding GmbH enterprise in Amberg, Germany. In the beginning, it was cloth and needle felt filters which were produces for mining and rock processing. However, in 1978 the idea to create an alternative, using sintered plastics, was developed and thus, in 1981 & 1982, the Herding sinter plate filter was born. This invention, the sinter plate filter element with patents all over the world, revolutionized the status of the filter technology and formed the basis for the expansion and the success of Herding Filtertechnik. Today we are a worldwide operating enterprise with ca 250 employees at the headquarters in Amberg and various affiliates all over Germany, plus companies in Belgium, China, the Czech Republic, France, The Netherlands, Switzerland, the United States, and further co-operation partners worldwide.
Position description:
As a Sales Engineer you will generate new business while maintaining the growth of existing customers by providing the highest level of customer support and technical knowledge in order to increase sales revenues.
Your product is not a commodity product and requires a strong connection with a customer who is always strongly focused on engineering.
You will work to resolve customer issues by attending presentations, product demonstrations and see the projects through the installation/implementation stage, assesses potential application of company products and services to offer solutions that exceed the customer’s needs.
You will research and present reports showing potential customers the cost benefit data on purchasing the company products.
This challenging position will provide technical training to clients and communicate customer feedback into future products specifications/development.
Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably related to the chemical, pharmaceutical, food,.. industry. Some experience in these industries, fields or related areas is a plus.
Candidate should have knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within process industries.
This position will report directly to the General Sales Manager.
After initial training with the existing sales force, for roughly 1 year, most likely relocation to the East-Coast or the South would be your next step, in order to establish an office closer to the customers in these areas.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Chemical or related field
Sales/Customer service skills
Knowledge of filtration systems is not required, knowledge of industrial processes however is a plus.
Strong organization and time management skills
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
Travel to customer’s sites will be required
High energy, Self-motivated personality
Represents the organization at all times in a professional, competent manner, in keeping with the high ethical standards of the organization.
