SOCIAL SERVICES FAMILY SPECIALIST

A Family Specialist provides crisis intervention, family therapy or counseling, education, skills training, and case management to families referred by SRS. A Family Specialist also acts as the family advocate and liaison with other community services, the court systems, schools, and SRS.
REQUIREMENTS
Required qualifications include LBSW, LMSW, LMFT, LPC or LMLP; 1 or more years experience delivering family-based services, reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license. Family specialists must be licensed to practice in the State of Kansas. Graduates from an accredited social work program are eligible for licensure. To apply for a license, send a check or money order for $10 to the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board (BSRB) and request a bachelor’s, master’s or clinical social work packet.
