Recovery / Collections Specialist

Snap-on Credit, a world class provider of innovative tool and equipment acquisition solutions to Snap-on and it’s customers on a global basis is seeking qualified Collections Specialist candidates for our Libertyville, IL Central Office.

The successful candidate will conduct extensive phone calls to establish contact with debtor and determine point of collection. Set up repayment plans and/or payoff demands on accounts exceeding 120 days past due. Recommend legal action and refer accounts to legal department for processing and follow-up. Act as a resource person to all Snap-on field personnel and parent company as it relates to Portfolio Management. Cultivate business relationships with field personnel for the coordination of product return and field contacts. Negotiate settlements when appropriate. Skip trace and backfill as needed. Requirements are High School plus specialized training equal to 2-year College or 2-year Technical degree, or BS or BA preferred; 3+ years related experience; Excellent computer skills and knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of products; Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload with multiple tasks; Effective communication skills, both verbal and written; and Knowledge of Fair Credit Collection practices.
