Job Summary/Purpose:

An R.H.I.T. (Registered Health Information Technician) who is directly responsible for coding all outpatient medical records, abstracting the records on the hospital computer system, analyzing chart for deficiencies and certain criterion and coordinating all aspects of the outpatient records.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate Degree from an approved school for Medical record technology as outlined by the American Health Information Management Association with successful completion of the accreditation exam.

Two years experience in ICD-9CM and CPT coding.

Experience and familiarity in working with diverse facets of medical staff activities.

Familiar with JCAHO and state regulations.

Self starter and well organized.
