SUMMARY

The Portfolio Manager is responsible for the overall success of the National City Account Janitorial Services. He/she is responsible for building strong partnerships and relationships with National City, Subcontractors and Varsity Management teams. The Portfolio Manager assures consistent execution of operating activities throughout the portfolio and assures that operating activities and decisions are achieving the portfolio’s financial objectives and that Varsity is delivering peace of mind and repeatable success to portfolio stakeholders.

RESPONSIBLITIES

Develops, manages and maintains relationship with National City representatives
Manages portfolio profitability and assures financial objectives are met throughout the portfolio
Manages portfolio’s operating performance
Manages portfolio’s subcontractor relationships
Directs communication and coordination activities for national account
Directs staffing activities throughout national account
Directs training & development activities throughout national account
Directs performance management activities throughout national account
Directs staffing activities throughout national account

REQUIREMENTS
The portfolio manager must have a variety of skills and must be able to apply those skills to effectively evaluate problems, determine possible solutions and coordinate response action.

This position is primarily a relations management function requiring a high degree of human relation and interaction skills and the ability to coordinate several dissimilar, but related functions toward a common objective. Position requires a strong ability to build rapport and lasting relationships with customers—a strong customer focus.

The ability to select and motivate personnel; plan and control the work, and delegate authority and responsibility in the various areas of responsibility at the same time. Incumbent must possess political savvy knowing when and how to work through others to accomplish portfolio goals.

The incumbent should have a basic understanding of the operation of all bank maintenance equipment and machinery but is not required to have the skill or ability of an operator.

The incumbent may work long hours, receive calls 24 hours per day, and work weekends when conditions require it. They may be required to climb, stoop, or bend in the performance of inspections.

The incumbent should possess highly developed written and verbal communication skills as well as proficient Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and email.

It is important that incumbent be familiar with and possesses a basic knowledge of janitorial and business administrative methods and techniques. Such knowledge and ability would normally be obtained through the acquisition of a high school diploma, college degree preferably in business administration. and 3 to 5 years of building maintenance or management experience with at least one year of personnel supervision.

The initiative to meet deadlines placed upon them by the customer as well as company representatives through the completion of required operational and administrative tasks.
