As a result of the July 2000 reaffiliation with Scripps Clinic, Scripps now has approximately 10,000 employees and also cares for patients at 12 Scripps Clinic locations throughout San Diego County.Division: Administrative ServicesDepartment: MARKETINGJob Type: Full-TimeShift Type: DaysShift Hours: 8 Hr ShiftPosition Profile: This position is responsible for the coordination and implementation of news media strategies and a range of information management coordination, to support the system-wide Public Relations program for Scripps Health. The position involves writing news releases,, media advisories, calendar announcements, press materials and providing support to media covering news and feature stories about Scripps Health. The position also is responsible for organizing and distributing media clips and creating and disseminating media coverage reports. REQUIREMENTS
Preferred Qualifications: Two years experience in media relations and other public relations. Able to research and verify information and made sound judgment about the information processing. Healthcare experience preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Bachelor's degree in communication, journalism, public relations or related field, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Demonstrates Associated Press Style news writing skills.Required Software: Word processing, graphics, presentations, and spreadsheets. Excellent organizational skills with particular attention to the organization of large amounts of information and background.
