The Occupational Therapist is the individual responsible for developing and implementing individualized patient rehabilitation plans, in accordance with established principles and practices of occupational therapy school and licensure.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties

Clinical
1.Thoroughly and appropriately evaluates patient to determine their present level of muscular, skeletal, cardio, neurological, and behavioral functioning.

2.In coordination with other appropriate clinical team members, develops a rehabilitation program with appropriate therapeutic modalities, designed to meet the patients’ personal, vocational and medical needs.

3.Orients patients to their individual programs to assure they understand the treatment and goals of the personal responsibility they must take to achieve success. Promotes patient participation on an on-going basic in discussion of status, treatment plans and goals.

4.Maintain goal-directed and purposeful treatment and patient involvement at every appointment. Listen and responds appropriately to the needs and concerns of patients.

5.Assures discharge decision and arrangements for follow-up or additional support services are properly made.

6.Maintain accurate records on all patients. Writes daily progress notes and weekly progress letters.

7.Submits charges for service and supplies consistent with department standards.

8.Assures compliance with Federal/Medicare guidelines and company compliance policies.

9.Participates in clinic marketing events as needed

Education/Certification: Graduate of an accredited school of Occupational Therapy approved and registered by the American Occupational Therapy Association. Bachelors’ degree required; Masters Degree preferred. Must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of practice.

Experience/Knowledge Required: Knowledge of accepted Occupational therapy applications. One year previous Occupational therapist experience preferred; one year of Occupational therapist experience required for specialization.

Skills/Abilities:

oProfessional decision making in determining a best course of action in treatment planning
oHighly develop communication and customer relations skills

State Licensure.
