Job Description:
POSITION PURPOSE
The Customer Service Operations (CSO) Order Writer's role is to provide customer service to Home Depot Customers via telephone. CSO Order Writers primarily spend their time writing orders and quotes for customers and contractors for will call or delivery for multiple Home Depot stores. The CSO Order Writer obtains a detailed list of the items requested for will call or delivery and verifies these items are in stock. This Associate contacts Special Services and/or Commercial Sales to ensure order is processed and/or pulled. The CSO Order Writer serves as an internal resource for product expertise to Call Center Associates. This Associate must have excellent customer service skills and maintain Home Depot product and service knowledge. A CSO Order Writer must also have active listening skills, be attentive to details and have excellent follow-up skills to ensure that will call/delivery orders are fulfilled quickly and accurately.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Writesorders and quotes for customers and contractors for will call or delivery for multiple stores
Acts as internal resource, supplying product or project application expertise
Suggests related items, sells entire project
Knows where to refer customers, stores, vendors and/or installers to when he/she cannot immediately answer their questions
Keeps customers informed regarding the status of Home Depot products, services, and order status
Other related duties as assigned by supervisor

NATURE AND SCOPE
Typically reports to Customer Service Operations Manager.
This position has no direct reports.
Typically has frequent contacts outside the workgroup.
Typically assignments vary and follow a few different procedures that allow choices from a few solutions.
Typically considers among several options and past practice when solving problems.
Typically, guidance is always available and prior permission is required before changing work methods.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Located in a comfortable indoor area.
Must meet reasonable deadlines, quotas or demands for accuracy and/or may be involved in some mildly difficult situations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be eighteen years of age
Must pass the Drug Test
Must pass the Background Check
Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS - Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS -

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
One year of experience is preferred.

Home Depot or home improvement commodity sales experience
Trade, contractor or MRO industry experience
Excellent communication skills
