Nordstrom: Hiring for Loss Prevention - Dulles Town Center

As a Loss Prevention Agent, you will support the operation of Nordstrom stores by maintaining building security and store safety, modeling Nordstrom’s philosophy by using good judgment in your decisions and actions, and identifying and applying various techniques to control potential or actual losses.

Primary Responsibilities:
•Provide a welcoming and safe shopping experience for customers by maintaining building security and general store safety
•Apprehend shoplifters, respond to emergency situations, administer first aid, escort hostile individuals from store, and assist lost children
•Perform monitoring and surveillance activities via camera and floor observation
•Conduct investigations of theft situations and follow-through to closure
•Perform daily, weekly, and monthly audits to help with shrinkage control
•Schedule, conduct and/or participate in security awareness meetings, new hire orientation, and depositions
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
•Driven to deliver superior service by exceeding customer expectations
•Must be a motivated professional with excellent investigative skills
•Demonstrated ability to relate well with customers and co-workers of diverse backgrounds and cultures
•Multi-task effectively and thrive in a fast-paced, energetic environment
•Demonstrated computer proficiency for completing all Loss Prevention audits and investigating theft situations
•Proven ability to plan, set and achieve goals
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Presents a professional image in appearance, words and actions
•Be a self-starter and use good judgment in all situations
•Previous experience in retail loss prevention preferred
•Must be able to pass background check
