National Sales Services Coordinator

Field Office Location: TYSONSWorks closely with National Sales Services and Circulation (Education, Retail and Blue Chip) on national account programs and activities. One of this position`s primary responsibilities will be to generate revenue through licensing content for textbook publishers. This entails: receiving all external education-related requests to reproduce USA TODAY articles, snapshots and infographs in print and online, negotiating domestic and international usage rights for materials, tracking permission rights and usage granted, working in conjunction with finance/accounting to generate invoices and collect payments, reporting progress monthly to VP/Managers of Education, Circ. Finance etc. This position will act as liaison between internal USA TODAY departments (such as Education, Graphics & Photography, and Editorial) and customers. In addition, this position will assist in the development of sales and marketing materials for Circulation departments, as well as various market offices. This entails coordinating the creative process for sales team members, devising copy/content, facilitating design with Brand Marketing, proofing materials and disseminating final products as appropriate. This position will assist in the research, development and layout of Case Studies and lesson plans for Education.
Requires BA/BS degree. 3 years prior sales/marketing experience preferred and strong proficiency with applicable hardware and software. Experience in project/product management preferred. Familiarity with education textbook publishers, as well as experience in sales/business development environment a plus. Internal knowledge of USA TODAY Editorial/Graphics a benefit. Strong computer skills on both PC and Macintosh platforms a must. Proficiency in MS Office products, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Ability to design and manipulate graphics, photos, PDF files and other documents with software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Freehand, Acrobat and Quark required. Comfort in utilizing Internet/intranet. Experience with internal USA TODAY systems such as the library text archive and the AP Preserver for graphics and photos beneficial.
