Job Description:
Siemens Water Technologies, Corp. has an immediate opening for a Municipal Services Business Development Specialist for the Central Region.
This position will be responsible for achieving profitable revenue growth in assigned geography with current platform of relevant service offers thru the current Services Group business segments (High Purity, General Industry, Environmental Services, Aftermarket & Hydrocarbon Services). The candidate would also be responsible to drive new service offers into the geography as they are developed and introduced (i.e. Systems Group service offer integration; new product and/or service offers) The candidate will work closely with local Services Group business segment management and support direct sales effort to ensure successful growth.
The candidate will be the point person & focal point within the geography to successfully develop and nurture business relationships with both external & internal customers including key & target accounts within geography, department of health & environmental regulatory agencies, regional trade associations, (RWA, AWWA, WEF), Siemens Water manufacturer representative network, Services Group business segment management, Systems Group segment management, & municipal capital sales groups.
The candidate shall be fluent in the use of the company's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform and tools to enable forecasting, market analysis and trends, and development of action plans to enable better penetration of the municipal market in targeted geography.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS
1. Provide direction and vision as it relates to the growth of service platform in the municipal market within assigned geography.
2. Work with the business segment product teams to develop action plans to improve sales performance and market penetration.
3. Support firm bid proposals as necessary to drive success.
4. Travel with Services Group field sales force to provide technical support & strategic direction.
5. Take leadership role in development of key & target accounts to strategically drive the necessary activities leading to bookings success
6. Facilitate the efforts of sales personnel in Services Group business segments
7. Assist in the training and technical support of the Services field sales force
8. Assist in development of sales and marketing materials to support the Services Group field sales force.
9. Utilize the company's Customer Relationship Management tools to track project opportunities, forecast bookings and develop market trend analysis on products and services to increase awareness of our effectiveness.
KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS,ABILITIES REQUIRED
1. Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with both external & internal customers as identified above including the ability to earn respect with business segment stakeholders
2. Ability to work effectively under deadline pressure and provide timely response to customers and other stakeholders
3. Understanding of the municipal market and fit of value added service programs
4. Willingness to travel domestically and occasionally internationally
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
6. Understanding of integrated systems and field erection scope of supply
7. Demonstrated ability to effectively develop and execute marketing and sales programs
8. Profit/Loss business understanding
9. Strong mechanical and process aptitude (degreed environmental, chemical or mechanical engineer preferred).
10. Computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM or similar software.
11. Ability to make effective presentations to both large and small groups.
12. Proven sales skills to persuade customers, close orders, and negotiate terms and conditions.
13. Ability to analyze and develop opportunities in the municipal market
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Chemical, or other Engineering field
2. Ten years experience in municipal water & wastewater treatment sales, marketing or business development
3. Ability to communicate effectively (verbal & written)
4. Demonstrated experience working effectively in a matrix organization
5. Ability to travel domestically and occasionally internationally.
