This position is responsible for the preparing and entering documents into an electronic patient record system. This process involves a variety of tasks including prepping, scanning and document indexing, as well as other duties assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or GED required. At least two years of current experience in Medical Records in, the filing/retrieval of medical charts, chart assembly also known as chart prepping and retrieval of medical charts. Capable of communicating accurately and professionally verbally in writing with co-workers, hospital staff in other departments, patients, physicians, insurance companies, attorneys, and other facilities. Knowledge of computer programs such as Eclipsys, Word and Excel would be helpful. Familiarity with using a mouse to navigate through Windows in the computer. Knowledge of medical terminology and terminal digit filing is desirable. Knowledge of alphabetic and numeric filing principles.
