Supervise the Mail staff, staff, plan and monitor the timely, accurate completion of the unit’s responsibilities. Evaluate employee performance, prepare and write performance evaluations, solve problems and administer disciplinary action when required. Identify/analyze and implement system/procedure changes to improve unit effectiveness/efficiency. Identify training needs of staff and ensure the training is administered. Assure that unit functions are performed within acceptable quality control standards. Ensure Commerce’s personnel policies and procedures are implemented. Responsible for the security of mail and that drafts/checks received late in the day are kept in a secured/locked area. Self motivated with the ability to work in a fast paced environment. Ensure Claim Mail office equipment is operative at all times.
REQUIREMENTS
This position requires an individual to have strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent interpersonal and listening skills. Candidate must possess past experience of interviewing candidates, writing performance evaluations, and analyzing work flow for improvements. Basic skills should include personal computer skills, math ability, and the ability to handle multiple tasks. Must be self motivated with the ability to work in a fast paced environment. Individual must maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
