Job Description:
Under the direct/general supervision of the Location Sales Manager , the Sales Associate is responsible for learning all operational aspects of the car rental business as it applies to Advantage Rent-A-Car. The Sales Associate will rotate through the various location positions as a Sales Associate becoming proficient and competent in the Daily Operations and Sales of the location. The Sales Associate will also responds to customer needs, in person and/or on the telephone, providing a courteous and a professional rental experience.

Job Responsibilities
Progresses through a formal orientation program which provides training in all aspects of the location to include administrative functions, local sales, risk management, incremental sales, yield management, fleet management, revenue management, financial and personnel management.
Becomes proficient in performing duties and responsibilities of the various support positions within the location.
Assumes leadership role as competencies are learned and demonstrated.
Insures personal training schedule is adhered to, notifying supervisor of any discrepancies.
Adheres to all company policies and procedures
Assist in generating and increasing business (quality referrals) to maximize the profitability of their location through the use of professional selling skills.
Identifies and responds to changing customer needs and expectations- notifying the Location Sales Manager of changes in customer's needs, perceptions, required product offering, etc.
Assists in identifying and developing new sources of referral business within existing territory of the location.
Helps to develops and maintain the core market for that location that the office depends on for the majority of daily rentals.
Assists in developing an overall sales and marketing plan to meet the location's goals with business mix and number of cars on contract.
Plans special events and holiday promotions involving sales management team.
Coordinates local marketing efforts with other locations and local reservations centers.
Assists other Sales Associates and Sales Management with marketing efforts by offering sales presentation training, organizing of route schedules and motivating team members.
Develops rapport with key accounts by making sales calls on new accounts, existing accounts and high level accounts through meetings, emails, phone calls, lunches and special events.
Promote and actively participate in Incremental Sales and Service programs and services to customers in an effort to maximize sales opportunities and meet sales goals set by management. Maximize up sells and walk-ups utilizing established Sales and Service techniques and dialogues. Programs and services include protection options, refueling program, special promotions, future reservations, etc.
Records, documents, and administers all rental transactions including proper payment accurately and according to company policy.
Reviews the terms and conditions of the rental contract with the customer, providing clarification or further explanation as requested.
Be instrumental in sales and service training.
Ensure full implementation of all Incremental Sales and Service processes.
Plan and participate in staff meetings to communicate and discuss concern areas, employee concerns, plans and upcoming goals. Notify upper management of any problem areas or trends that should be addressed.
Complete and submit all reports and assignments as required so management is advised of special issues, problem areas and resolutions.
Provides professional customer service and resolves conflict as needed.
Abides by and enforces, as directed, company policies and procedures.
Works in a highly competitive industry that is challenging, fast paced, stressful and rewarding.
Fuels and cleans rental vehicles as needed.
Picks up and drops off customers as needed.
Any other duty or responsibility as assigned or directed by Location Sales Manager, District Manager, or Regional Training Manager.

REQUIREMENTS
Job Requirements:
College Degree or a minimum of two years experience in a related field.
Valid drivers license, 21 years of age, Insurance certification if required in the state of employment, and an acceptable driving record.
Previous experiences in sales, management, retail, or travel industry preferred. Must be articulate and possess excellent verbal and communication skills.
Ability to lift, bend, turn, stoop and pick up luggage and other items weighing between 25 to 60 pounds. Works in adverse weather conditions stands and sits for prolonged periods of time.
Will provide needed training.
