Investor Relations Legal Affairs Specialist

The D. E. Shaw group, a specialized investment and technology development firm, seeks a Legal Affairs Specialist for its Investor Relations group to facilitate the development and marketing of the firm’s investment products. Responsibilities will include drafting, editing, and reviewing investor communications, marketing documents, and legal documentation; researching business development issues in conjunction with senior members of the firm’s legal, tax, and compliance groups; and helping to ensure the firm’s compliance with certain legal and regulatory requirements. The position requires superior writing, organizational, and analytical abilities; proven project-management skills; extreme attention to detail; and the desire to excel in a dynamic work environment. No previous investor relations experience is required, but a J.D. or background in law or finance is a strong plus. Candidates should have a first-rate undergraduate academic background and at least 5 years’ work experience or an equally first-rate advanced degree and at least 2 years’ work experience.
