Helpdesk Support Service Specialist

We are currently seeking to fill contract Help Desk Support Specialist positions in our Madison, Al location. This position will pay $12.50 an hour.

Job Description:
The Specialist works under general supervision and may lead and direct the work of others in the absence of the designated supervisor. A limited degree of creativity and latitude is expected and must comply with all physical, data, IT security and health and safety policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide support to end-users on a variety of issues
Identify, research and resolve technical problems
Respond to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support
Track and monitor problems to ensure a timely resolution
Resolve PC software configuration problems and may remotely install software products or approved patches
Document user's problems through the use of an online problem management system including opening, updating, statusing and closing problem tickets
Monitor problem ticket queue to ensure all assigned tasks are completed within specified metric requirements
Rely on documented policies, processes and procedures to accomplish task objectives
REQUIREMENTS

Job Requirements:
Associate Degree or equivalent in a related field or a combination of experience and formal training
MCP certification or a MOS in two of the following: Word, Excel, Outlook (if not currently in possession, can be waived for first 30 days of employment)
Win XP experience is required for these positions.
MAC experience is a plus
Current or prior security clearance is a plus
Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the field
Good written and verbal communications
