This position reports to the Assistant Director of Information Technology. Responsibilities include: answer all incoming Help Desk calls, conduct follow up calls regarding completion of service, and return calls left on voice mail. When necessary, contact technician by radio or phone to resolve urgent issues. Verbally troubleshoot questions/requests/problems in operating systems, applications, programs, utilities, and Internet service as reported by caller. If the reported problem requires additional assistance, the Help Desk Assistant will assign the request to the appropriate department technician. Log and track all calls in Help Desk database. Issue weekly reports on status of calls and appraise immediate supervisor of issues that have not been resolved in a timely manner. Prepare and track all equipment / software orders, office supplies and other items; prepare Capital Expenditure and Purchase Requisitions; log and track purchased equipment; take minutes for weekly staff meetings and other meetings as assigned; prepare and distribute various reports. This position will also assist with special projects and administrative tasks as assigned; assist the Director with travel arrangements and reports related to travel, as well as maintain the Director’s schedule and contacts; perform department filing and record keeping; other related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
Associate's degree, bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office suite of products, and Microsoft Outlook required. Must also possess customer service experience and excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Must also have the ability to work in a team setting, as well as able to function with minimal supervision. Prior experience in a help desk role also preferred.
