GOVERNMENT RELATIONS SPECIALIST
The Government Relations Specialist will maintain CalOptima’s policy process under the supervision of the State Liaison Manager. Specifically, this position will analyze CalOptima’s policies and procedures for compliance with applicable statutory, regulatory, contractual, and other CalOptima obligations; assist in the development of written policies and procedures to support programs; and facilitate review and approval of policies. In addition, the Government Relations Specialist will assist with legislative activities, communications with elected officials and regulators, and other department projects, as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
This position requires working knowledge of the Medicare, Medicaid, and SCHIP programs; familiarity with the public policy process; and managed care experience. The Government Relations Specialist must possess excellent writing and analytical skills; demonstrate ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders; and the ability to work independently and under tight deadlines. Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Public Health, Health Services Administration, or related filed. Master’s preferred.
