General Manager- Director of Tour Operations

Mid Atlantic Tours and Receptive Services, the Capital area's largest and fastest growing Receptive Operator, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of General Manager-Director of Operations. This new position is created to assist the owner in both the operations and sales departments with an emphasis on operations. Applicants must have experience in tour planning and/or event planning, staff management and operations. The Director will be a hands on position and must be an effective team leader. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain and enhance our team's positive attitude, increase productivity and foster a mutually beneficial working environment for all staff. The GM will manage all of the details and deadlines required to provide the excellence of service required by both the owner and our clients.



Applicants must have experience in the management of professional level employees and a proven track record in successfully training, motivating and increasing the productivity of their staff. Additional duties will include the management and overseeing of all details in the event planning required for over 500 tours annually. The position will require both direct involvement in the management of tours/events assigned to the General Manager as well as overseeing a staff of three other operations personnel. The General Manager will also be involved in the company's sales and marketing efforts assisting the owner at trade shows, tours, sales calls and the management and motivation of a staff of three tour planners. The position is created specifically to alleviate the day to day work of running the tour office so the owner can have the time necessary to focus on growth.

Work week averages 50- 60 hours and is particularly demanding in peak season March - June. Position requires being on call during evenings and weekends which are rotated among the operations staff. Some travel and weekends are required. Potential for part ownership in the future is a possibility for the right candidate. Couple teams desiring future ownership are encouraged to apply.
