JOB TITLE: Gateway Team Leader
Job Purpose:
o Provide leadership for teams of technical and business people as required for assigned projects. o Provide technical leadership within IT for driving architectural evolution. o Be fully responsible for small to large concurrent projects. o Work with business partners in assigned business areas to identify and create solutions for complex issues. o Build productive relationships with assigned business areas to ensure successful delivery of services and systems. o Provide tactical level managerial expertise to ensure successful delivery of IT services.
Key Accountabilities:
o Technical leadership. o Design and development of solutions to complex business problems. o Management of IT projects o Develop estimates, schedules, and project plans. o Prepare and/or supervise the preparation of detailed specifications. o Communication of status, schedules, and project plan details to business users. o Provide work direction to junior team members. o Design of test plans, verification of results, and work with business clients to ensure total satisfaction with deliverables o Participate in change control management as it pertains to active projects and supported applications o Identify and mitigate risks, which would impair the delivery of assigned projects. o Preparation for and participation in senior management presentations as required for new project proposals and status on assigned projects. o Effective communication with business owners. o Participation in IT resource planning, project scheduling, and development of resources. o Supervise complex program coding efforts and provide quality assurance for deliverables o Analyzing, measuring and recommending improvements to business and/or system processes. o Identify opportunities within Deltacom, Inc. to recognize revenue generation, cost reduction or efficiency gains.
Educational & Experience Requirements:
o Bachelor’s degree, in a technical discipline such as Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Mathematics. o Minimum of 5 years of practical IT experience with proven analytical abilities. o Proven track record of leading IT projects including generation of business requirements, systems engineering, developing designs both high level and detailed, and controlling projects to successful completion. o Proven track record with B2B technology and projects. o Proven experience with outsourcing software development and systems implementation. o Proficient in and demonstrated experience with C++, C++. NET, VB.NET, ASP.NET or C# Application Development. o Working knowledge of XML, SOAP, OpenSSL, CORBA, Perl Scripting, and Unix Scripting. o Proficient in and demonstrated knowledge of RDBMS (DB2, Oracle, and SQL Server). o Knowledge of Unix and Windows based platforms. o Proficient with Visual Studio platform and SourceSafe or similar technology. o Experience with additional object oriented programming languages a plus. o Knowledge of Telecommunications regulated ordering desired. o Familiarity with Telecommunications industry standards. o Project Management experience desired.
