Front Desk Receptionist and Scheduling Clerk
The primary objective of the Front Desk is to answer a multitude of calls quickly (within three rings) and to direct calls to their destination without delay. When this entails scheduling a patient, the Front Desk is to fill out patient demographics and scheduling fields, ensuring proper documentation of patient activities and information along with the proper scheduling of patient exams. The Front Desk must be familiar with facility and scheduling policies.
The secondary objective of the Front Desk is to perform a variety of clerical tasks related to patient check-in/check-out. These including: Greeting Patients, Answering Questions, Providing Directions, Assisting Patients in Paperwork Completion, and Validating Parking. The key role is in always providing the primary objective whilst delivering the secondary, but always in such a way that positively affects the patient’s perception or call/visit experience.
The Front Desk works under general supervision and typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
REQUIREMENTS
1.Answer a high volume of calls and maintain a rapid response rate according to agreed standards
2.Works closely with clinical staff for patient and doctor satisfaction
3.Schedule patients in a timely and courteous manner
4.Verify and confirm patient appointments
5.Inform patients of any potential insurance problems
6.Insurance Verification
7.Distribution of Medical Reports
8.Operate a variety of standard office machines, including personal computer and a variety of computer software, phone, fax, shredding machine, bank card machine and photocopy machine
9.Communicate and liaise verbally and/or in writing between patients and relevant staff, and interpret and respond clearly and effectively to spoken requests over the phone or in person, and to written instructions. This including: Film/CD Requests and Order Corrections
10.Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and the general public
11.Perform reception duties in an efficient, professional and courteous manner
12.Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance, and adherence to relevant health and safety procedures
13.Maintain relevant office supplies for effectiveness of personal duties
14.Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role
