The Job-
The Field Service Specialist travels to customers and prospective customers' sites to investigate and resolve customer reports of technical problems with equipment, and eliminate future operational difficulties. Frequent ground travel is required, mainly by company provided vehicle, but occasionally requiring over-night trips and travel arrangements such as airline, hotel, and rental car reservation. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (Other duties may be assigned):Provide on-site technical assistance to troubleshoot and repair equipment.Provide preventive and corrective maintenance on a variety of diagnostic ultrasound equipment at customer's facility to ensure full functionality according to specifications.Review performance reports and documentation from customers and inspects malfunctioning or damaged product to determine nature and scope of problem.Analyze review and inspection findings to determine source of problem, utilizing electronic test equipment such as digital multi-meter and oscilloscope, and performs repair, replacement, or other corrective action.Prepare reports of technical problems to determine trends affecting future service, and maintenance processes, and recommend modifications to eliminate future problems.Maintain records of service reports, and document all expenses, service and sales.Manage maintenance of assigned company vehicle, to ensure safe operation and professional image with customers.Travel throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders.Nurture growth of business in assigned area.Conduct training on the safe operations of the equipment and demonstrate skills both to other Field Service Specialists and customers.Schedule and coordinate multiple tasks at multiple locations; must be prepared upon arrival with all resources to complete the job quickly and efficiently, while maintaining a high quality standard, professional image and exceptional customer service.

The employee is frequently required to stand, sit, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to life up to 100 pounds. The vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Education/ Experience:Associates degree (AS.) from a community college or technical school, or two years related experience and/ or training.Degree in Electronics Technology or Biomedical Electronics preferred. Language Ability:Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, service manuals, operating and maintenance instructions, electronic schematics and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Math Ability:Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Reasoning Ability:Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills:Basic Computer Certificates and Licenses:Valid Driver's License. Supervisory Responsibilities:This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
