Field Service Representative
ProfileAre you a technically proficient individual looking for some excitement? If you're looking for a growth opportunity, a position where you can utilize all of your existing skills and an opportunity to learn, this is for you! Our Field Service Representatives are the "special forces" of our organization. We call upon them to provide a variety of services to our customers, including installations, repairs, or upgrades.
We send them where they are most needed. You will be interfacing directly with our clients. This means you will work for multiple customers with many different types of issues in different physical locations. We need people who like local travel and enjoy the challenge of change.
There are opportunities for career development, through our (GVU) Getronics Virtual University. We offer E-Learning resources for technical training that leads to professional certifications, plus self paced courses for interpersonal and business skills development.
ChallengesWorking in an ever-changing environment, while exciting and interesting, poses some challenges. Our Field Service Representatives must learn about our customers quickly and effectively in order to be successful. You will need to have strong customer service skills and enjoy working independently as you will be working at our customer's sites.. One of the keys to your success will be your ability to listen carefully to the customer, understand the issues and implement the right solution.
Actions and Results
You will be working on our customers' systems. Tasks will include, configuring and upgrading networks and network peripherals such as, POS Systems (Point of Sale), back office components, PC's (Personal Computers), Printers, Fax Machines, and Monitors. In addition, you will be performing upgrades to existing systems be it software or hardware.It may also be necessary to troubleshoot existing systems to re-establish email or other applications to a customers' system. The goal of these tasks is to provide service so you can enable our customers to do their job. They have a problem, they need a solution and it's up to you.
Technical Skills and Qualification A+, Net+ amd MCSE certification preferred
1-2 years installation or repair experience of computer hardware and software
Requires a valid drivers license Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Installation of NIC cards
Experience with POS equipment. (preferred)
Ability to complete standard background and drug testing.
