Labor Ready is currently seeking an Events Coordinator in Lakeland, FL. · Provide an efficient, safe, consistent and quality service to the complete satisfaction of Venue Ready clients observing all appropriate procedures and guidelines of Venue Ready
· Ensure that Venue Ready financial interests are protected and event based profit is maximized at all times
· Knowledgeable of Venue Ready’s contractual obligations and responsibilities contained within the “scope of work” and ensure delivery of same.Duties:
•Under guidance of the Event Manager, the event coordinator coordinates events and assists with operational activities
•Requires judgment and decision making where errors will cause confusion, delay and result in additional operating expense.
•Supervises provision of required security, janitorial, equipment and other services for event production. Resolves problems and complaints from promoters, general public and neighboring community and directs support personnel
•Maintains high visibility during assigned events.
•Contacts and negotiates with vendors for equipment and supplies
•Supervises assignments as directed by Event Manager
•Any other duties as assigned.
· Direct, control, motivate and encourage all employees to complete their designated duties in a manner that will ensure the provision of an efficient and courteous service to all Venue Ready customers, improve Venue Ready image and maximize profit
· Maximize profitability through effective and timely planning, monitoring of daily operations, reviewing daily labor costs and expenditures
· Ensure the compliance with all relevant State and Federal acts and regulations that relate to Venue Ready operations.
· Ensure that all vehicles and equipment are consistently and fully accounted for at all times and that they are maintained in a safe and working. Maintain Vehicle Log books on a weekly basis.
· Maintain the job-site daily records to verify the condition of all equipment when returned and ready for next use and stored appropriately and securely
· Carry out any other duties as requested by the Event/Venue Manager or any person in a similar position
· Travel to various Events/Venues as required to assist where necessary
REQUIREMENTS
Our ideal Event Coordinator must possess:Experience (3+ years) and proven ability in the use of – Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, AccessEducation and/or Experience (Minimum Requirements):
Proven ability (3+ years) to manage a team of permanent and casual staff in a dynamic event environmentExtensive experience (5+ years) in the venue/event industry in a service related field (preferably cleaning and waste management is highly desirable)Experience in project management, especially adherence to tight timetables, limited financial resources would be an advantageProven ability to deliver quality customer service and ensure issues are effectively resolved in a timely mannerProven experience working in a Client/Contractor relationship, particularly in a service related industry is highly desirableWork Environment:Event Coordinator position reports directly to an Event Manager.Must be able and willing to work long hours and weekends.Must have valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and be willing to transport temporary workers.
