Job Category: Human ResourcesPosition Description: Mission/Purpose of Job:Under general supervision provide Human Resources and Benefits transactions and maintenance services, as well as quality customer service to employees, business, retirees, and vendors. Position will also provide broad exposure to functional expertise in the Oracle HRIS HR and Benefits system. An opportunity to develop and build on one’s knowledge will be provided. Participate in close working relationship with ERC, HRIT team, HR & Benefits Specialists and internal/external clients. Represent the department by providing a valuable interface to ERC clients on a wide range of HR, Benefits, and HRIS issues.Primary Responsibilities:Customer Service
Handle client inquiries via ERC Help Line, email, walk-ins, and ERC Mailbox related to Benefits and HR Policies and Practices, including researching and answering questions
Provide HR Generalist support as required
Respond to routine written employee/retiree inquiries or concernsHR Transactions
Perform HR/Benefits data entry for all Reader’s Digest employees including LTD and retiree coding, and annual promotions
Administer communications for Short Term Disability and Family Medical Leave Absence occurrences in liaison with Medical Dept
Follow-up with administrative requirements for terminations (including profiles, vacation accrual, Request Task System (RTS) & outplacement services notifications)HR and Benefits Oracle Functional Expertise
Ability/potential to provide HRIS functional expertise within Oracle HRIS product including:
Develop, implement and support processes for updating employee record/job/organization/benefit information (HR and Benefits related data)
Develop and maintain job standards, tables and organization structure, as well as reporting structures (table maintenance for HR and Benefits)
Maintain Oracle applications, such as premium rates, life event reasons and set-up tables
Involved in the assimilation of new divisions and/or new companies into Oracle HR and OAB system
Work closely with HRIT staff to monitor vendor files being produced out of Oracle/passed to vendors ensuring data is captured and passed accurately
Work with end users (ERC, Payroll, Vendors) to provide system support and troubleshoot problems
Assist in the review, testing and implementation of HRIS system upgrades or patches.
REQUIREMENTS
Associates or College Degree preferred.
Working experience in HR, HRIS, Payroll and/or Benefits environment
Systems experience, either HRIS (Preferably Oracle HRIS) or Payroll (ADP).
Strong analytical skills
Understanding of HR processes and data, including eligibility and enrollment
rules, and benefit procedures preferred
Action oriented - - able to adjust priorities and maintain effective follow-up systems to
accommodate a multiple task workload.
Energetic, resourceful and self-motivated.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Personal integrity and trust, and respect for confidentiality.
Ability to handle sensitive information and situations with tact and discretion.
Customer services focus including ability to communicate effectively.
Team player with willingness to be involved in projects outside immediate scope of responsibility;
Excellent computer skills
