In fact, when the first bottling franchise began operations in 1901, it operated under the ownership of Benjamin F. Thomas and James F. Johnston, grandfather of our former Chairman of the Board, Summerfield K. Johnston, Jr.Though Coca-Cola Enterprises is now the largest soft drink bottler in the world, each of our local bottling operations represent several decades of success in building the strongest brands in the world. Maintaining the local aspect of our business continues to be an integral part of our success.
DESCRIPTION:Responsible for directing all aspects of Coca-Cola Enterprises’ claims administration program for workers compensation, auto liability, general liability and product liability claims. Manages annual self-insured claims expense of $170 million. Selects, negotiates and manages third party service contracts ($10 million annual cost). Manages all aspects of the claims process, including control program, audit program, resolution of claims, performance metrics and financial reporting. Develops and confirms forecast and budget of self-insured claims and administrative costs. Leads development of the annual cost allocation/budget for BU's, working closely with safety, HR and NABU finance. Develops and implements strategic initiatives to reduce the financial impact of claims. Ensures claimants are treated in a fair and professional manner. Executes settlement authority up to $1 million per claimant. Directs and coordinates handling of catastrophic losses (working closely with CCE legal staff, outside counsel and our insurers). Works closely with CCE's safety and human resources professionals to support a corporate culture that values controlling and reducing costs associated with accidents/injuries through appropriate safety initiatives. Represents Risk Management at all levels of the Company and externally. Serves as the primary "face" for CCE's claims function with the external insurance market.
Identifies and sponsors design of system solutions to support the claims function; works closely with the Manager, Data and Systems to improve and develop the systems environment. Conducts periodic and ad hoc claims analysis and reporting. Responsible for ongoing improvement and enforcement of an appropriate control environment internally and with service providers. Supports insurance negotiations including preparation of claims underwriting information, meeting with brokers and underwriters, and assisting in insurance policy negotiations.RESPONSIBILITIES:

Budget, forecast, allocation, financial reporting
Managing and developing people
Strategic iniatives in claims management, safety, etc. -- includes building internal networks
Risk management analysis and strategy
Support insurance negotiations
QUALIFICATIONS:
Multi-jurisdictional experience in claims settlement for both workers compensation and liability claims, with strong legal/claims resolution experience in both routine claims management as well as resolution of complex or catastrophic claims.
Must have proven management/leadership experience working with internal and external teams, with a track record of developing people.
Must have experience designing and implementing complex claims programs.
In addition to the required experience described above, the following would be preferred:
international (European) claims experience
experience as a claims supervisor/manager for an insurer or third party administrator (TPA); broker or corporate risk management claims experience would also be helpful
