The Development Officer for the MU College of Business functions as a major gift fundraiser. The officer reports to the Director of Development of the college and assists in developing program funding needs and priorities. This position is based in Columbia, Mo.

Responsibilities:
*Identifying prospective individual donors, mostly alumni, and some corporate and foundation sources.
*Initiating and managing appropriate personal cultivation, solicitation, proposal, closing and stewardship activities.

Required Qualifications
*Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, sales, customer relationship management or related area; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
*Two to three years of experience in fundraising, alumni/volunteer relations or customer relations management.
*Willingness to travel 40-50 percent of the time is a necessity, including some evening and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications
*Experience in higher education or development office.
*Proven and successful track record of soliciting and closing gifts of five and six figures and above.
