Desktop Support Analyst

Our Client currently has a Contract Position available for a Desktop Support Analyst in their Richmond, VA location.

Duties & Responsibilities
-Perform desktop support related tasks in ticket resolution, installation, maintenance and upgrade of computer hardware, software and related peripherals.
-Identify, troubleshoot and resolve desktop related hardware, software and network problems.
-Hardware support included installing and configuring memory, hard drives, network cards troubleshooting or upgrading faulty equipment as needed. Software duties included installing, upgrading, and maintaining Windows XP operating systems as well as a variety of applications including MS Office 2000 suite technical assistance to users. Knowledge of Macintosh hardware and OS and application software.
-Knowledge of Windows 2000 server administration and Active Directory (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, RAS)
-Knowledge of Exchange / Outlook administration
-Blackberry and Palm support

REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
3 to 5 years of relevant work experience in the installation & support of computer hardware, software and related peripherals required. Srong experience with Windows XP, Office 2003/XP, Outlook, IE, Norton Antivirus, Ghost, HP printers required.
Good problem solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
Excellent follow-up skills and commitment to see complicated problems through to solution.
A team player with good people skills and the ability to interact and communicate effectively with business users and other team members..
