JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position may involve some or all of the following: helping the agent provide excellent customer service to meet the insurance needs of the agency’s clients, contacting new prospects or existing clients to set sales appointments for the agent, and completing sales interviews to meet stated sales goals.



EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:

General knowledge of office procedures and customer service experience is preferred. Some insurance knowledge is helpful but not required for an individual who is ambitious and willing to learn.



SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

A pleasant, outgoing personality.
A preference to work with people and meet new people daily.
The ability to learn and to operate computer hardware and software provided by the agency.
The ability to organize and prioritize work.

JOB RELEATED TRAINING COURSES AND PROGRAMS:

The employee will be expected to complete Indiana State Licensing for both Property/ Casualty and Life/Health, and Farmers Staff Business Builder Training within the first six months on the job.



Licensed staff members are expected to complete the required continuing education courses to maintain their license.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Demonstrating the spirit of the Agency’s Mission Statement on a daily basis
Greeting clients and prospects that walk in or call
Processing policy changes, updating household information, and handling policyholder claims
Contacting and asking policyholders and new prospects to set appointments
Preparing sales materials for the agent
If licensed, completing sales presentations
Handling routine office maintenance and ordering supplies
Handling additional duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
Good Credit History and No Bankruptcies in the last 3 years.
