Claim Representative- Auto and Physical Damage

The Ohio Casualty Insurance Company is hiring for a Claim Representative- Auto and Physical Damage to provide claim service to include investigating, evaluating, and settling complex claims. Secure required supporting documentation, and provide required reports.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


Investigates claims to include obtaining statements, police reports, medical documentation, scene investigation, and cause of loss.

Evaluates claim as to coverage, liability, and damage.

Negotiates claim settlements, and issues claim payments within authority.

Handles complex liability and coverage issues as assigned.

Identifies fraudulent claims, and refers to SIU for further investigation.

Supports Claim Catastrophe program as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
Two years claim adjusting experience; Bachelor’s Degree, preferred

Knowldege of PA claims handling requirements

Auto and physical damage claims handling experience

Experience handling auto total loss and thefts

Ability to review and explain an auto appraisal

Knowledge of property claims handling helpful

Comprehensive knowledge of insurance coverages, investigative techniques, claim adjusting procedures, and legal environment

Demonstrated verbal, written, interpersonal, and telephone communication skills

Demonstrated organization and time management skills

PC/CRT experience with keyboard skills

Ability to travel

Completes educational courses as assigned

Must obtain an adjuster license for assigned state(s) within state-required timeframe, if applicable; otherwise, within six (6) months of hire into position
