Catastrophe (CAT) Claims Representatives

This position begins as a 1-year contract and is convertible to full-time employee status after a 90-day training/evaluation period. The purpose of this training is to prepare individuals to handle Catastrophe claims. Once the training program is fully completed, the employees are assigned throughout our nationwide territory. This position requires extensive travel (80%) anywhere within the 41 states in which Farmers provides insurance coverage.

A travel commitment with the CAT team of up to 24 months will be required. The full-time, regular CAT team member will be given the use of a company car and will receive a base salary, plus per diem. In addition, there will be potential for overtime and travel bonus pay.

Candidates must have a 4-year Bachelors degree, PC skills/experience, organizational and time management skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, availability to work additional hours when needed, and the ability to lift 50 pounds and climb rooftops to inspect damages. The base salary for this entry-level position is $33,500, however with overtime and bonuses the average one makes the first year on the job is 65k-70k.
