Business Relationship Manager

Description:
The Business Relationship Manager acts as the primary coordination point for the business in the areas of business/IT strategy development, solution discovery, service management, and relationship management. In these arenas the Manager will jointly develop the IT strategy plan for providing business improvements in growth or efficiencies in a plan that reflects the IT initiatives and project portfolio and a demand management plan for IT services that are proactively managed; the manager must facilitate the involvement of IT representatives SME’s from Solution teams, Architecture, Engineering, Production Services and other relevant parties; this individual manages the overall IT services performance profile as the overall point of escalation and resolution; and finally the Manager strives to become a valued and preferred IT service provider to all business partners in sustainable relationships.

In addition, the Business Relationship Manager develops long-term and annual IT budgets and spending targets and ensures that budgets are aligned with the strategic architecture and technology roadmap. This person will be expected to provide strategic and competitive insights about new technology and innovation relevant to the Business that includes best practices of applied IT solutions in the business context, thereby driving applied new technology orientation, innovation, and better leverage of IT solutions in the business.

REQUIREMENTS
Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience required. 5+ years in complex corporate environment interacting with multiple departments. 6-8 years of account management/relationship management experience in an IT consulting environment or IT environment. Previous experience managing IT services, and IT consulting experience. Competency in Microsoft Office products, and MS Project and Visio.
Business fluency and business presence – the ability to engage with the business with credibility and positive relationship management outcomes. Broad basic understanding of business workings including business drivers for success, process and approaches to business models; the ability to learn quickly when necessary. Effective strategic thinker and planner. General working knowledge of IT with particular emphasis in the application of IT for business enabling alternatives and possibilities; strong understanding of IT solution discovery approaches. Ability to translate IT concepts and technical aspects into plain language; strong overall communication skills. Familiarity with SDLC and development technologies, infrastructural technologies, and web technologies.
