Bus Driver/Safety Officer

The Bus Driver is responsible for providing safe, dependable bus transportation to our associates. The Bus Driver/Facilities-Security associate will assist facilities/ Security during times when the bus is not being utilized. Facility/Security duties will consist of assisting security to maintain a safe environment at the workplace and will assist Facilities with routine maintenance items when requiredEssential Functions:
Drive bus defensively on fixed response routes as assigned. Provide excellent customer service and assist passengers as necessary.Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times towards associates, colleagues and management.
Follow scheduled routes and time tables as assigned. Pick up passengers on time, or if unable , call Security immediately.
Monitor weather conditions and roads daily and report emergencies to department management as appropriate.Secure passengers as required by applicable state and federal law. Operate phone/ walkie-talkie in accordance with procedures.Maintain all CDL licensing, endorsements and requirements necessary to operate bus.
Record information on daily report, including daily passenger counts, fuel consumption, odometer readings and submit as required. Maintain contact listing of bus patrons along with respective schedules.
Inspect the buses daily and complete pre/post trip inspections. Notify Physical Security Manager of any preventative maintenance needs and or mechanical needs immediately.Keep the exterior of the buses cleaned at all times as weather permits. Vacuum or sweep and damp mop bus floor, and dust dash and other interior surfaces as required.
Comply with all applicable safety requirements, laws and motor vehicle regulations.
Ensure that only authorized passengers are permitted entry on to the bus.
Refrain from and ensure that passengers refrain from eating, use of tobacco in/near vehicle.
Assist Facilities with the daily upkeep of the internal/external facility/grounds, company vehicles, executive properties, housekeeping, but not strictly limited to HVAC, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, painting, and for all other tasks assigned, etc.Assist Security with insuring the physical safety of all associates occupying the facility.Assist Security with ensuring all security related polices and procedures are followed. On occasion, assist with security patrols, both interior and exterior.Administer first aid to Associates when necessary.Occasionally assist with other aspects of the Company's business, such as Customer Assistance, when requested.
REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge & Skills:
Effective interpersonal communication skills required.
Effective written communication skills are necessary.
Exhibit excellent defensive driving skillsDemonstrate knowledge of all applicable state and federal motor vehicle regulations.
PC-related skills preferredFirst aid certification preferredBasic knowledge of building facility maintenance & security preferred.
Education & Work Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum of one (1) year of successful operating experience.Certifications & Licenses:
Valid CDL with Class “P” endorsement driver’s license required.
