The Background Screening Specialist position is responsible for processing background screening requests on Citigroup new hires and supporting a team of Background Screening Analysts. 

The responsibilites of the Background Screening Specialist will include but are not limited to: 

Reviewing incoming requests to determine if additional information is needed for processing.

Contacting the requesting party to obtain missing items (when necessary).

Conducting preliminary database searches which support the background investigation.

Building case information into a web- based tracking system and subsequently assigning cases to the investigative team.

Preparing monthly billing invoices.

Assisiting with day to day administrative duties (fax, file, e-mail) and assisting with the processing and dissemination of FBI fingerprint reports.
REQUIREMENTS


 



Two year degree with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience, or equivalent in a fast paced, dynamic culture.

Excellent customer service skills.

Ability to handle confidential information and matters with discretion.

Flexibility and experience to manage multiple, high priority tasks and adjust to shifting priorities, while meeting deadlines.

Extremely detailed oriented, with strong follow-up.

Ability to work independently and interact with all levels of management in a professional and positive manner

Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

Strong analytical, project management and process management skills.

Innovative and creative thinker

Highly proficient in Internet and database searches.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint) and the ability to quickly learn other computer applications.
