We integrate customized services, leverage expertise across industries and apply business knowledge to our clients' strategic goals.POSITION SUMMARY: The Accountant maintains and oversees accounting and bookkeeping functions, internal controls, subsidiary records, and activities related to and impacting upon the general ledger and accounting system for intercompany activities for assigned business units. This position also performs professional operating or cost accounting activities requiring knowledge of theory and practice of recording, classifying, examining, and analyzing various financial transactions and records.ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The Accountant performs a variety of accounting functions such as preparing routine working papers, schedules, exhibits, and summaries. Examines financial documents and data for completeness, internal accuracy, and conformance with uniform accounting classifications. Balances and updates accounts, ensuring the proper recording and allocation between entities, and monitoring the balance and any fluctuations. Monitors the general ledger daily and reconciles all bank accounts monthly with all journal entries made for adjustments. Reviews invoices and payments made to vendors, health insurance carriers, and other service providers. Prepares monthly reports as required by policy and procedures. Reviews report detail; researches and explains variances. Performs research and documents findings on various accounting issues as required. May conduct special studies or participate in special projects.
Job Requirements
Possesses entry-level to intermediate knowledge of accounting principles and operations policies and procedures. Possesses good technical accounting skills, and works independently under general supervision. Functions within established policies and procedures. Must have proficiency with personal computer, including a strong working knowledge of Excel/spreadsheets. Must have ability to develop proficiency in automated accounting system software and other business applications.REQUIRED EDUCATION: Possesses required experience or education in Accounting.
