YOUTH COUNSELOR

Woodward Academy, a Sequel Youth Services Program, is a residential treatment facility for male youth who are adjudicated delinquent or “child in need of assistance” (CINA). Woodward Academy offers three highly structured programs aimed at redirecting delinquent, negative behaviors to positive, socially acceptable patterns through introducing students to a normative culture. Woodward’s treatment philosophy focuses on behavioral and cognitive change through the establishment of a normative culture model and offender specific treatment services. Private placement is available in all programs.
REQUIREMENTS
The qualifications for the youth counselor position include a high school diploma or GED and one year of previous work or volunteer experience working with kids; or 60 credit hours towards a four-year college degree in the Human Services field; or a college degree in the Human Services field.
