Responsible for: all retail leasing (with an emphasis on leasing of new developments), acquisition of existing retail properties, and acquisition of land for development, as well as other miscellaneous legal matters

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
negotiate big box leases, ground leases and shop space leases for new developments and interact with leasing manager and development manager
negotiate leases for vacant property in the portfolio and interact with asset management in connection with said negotiations
perform all legal work necessary for the acquisition of land for development
perform all legal work necessary for the acquisition of existing retail properties
prepare contracts, closing documents, leases, confidentiality agreements and other legal documents
monitor legal work being performed by in-house paralegals
monitor outside counsel in connection with portfolio acquisitions, entitlement work, and other legal matters
monitor legal work being performed by joint venture partners' in-house legal counsel or outside counsel
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university
Doctor of Law (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Minimum 5 years commercial real estate experience, with an emphasis on retail leasing and development
J.D. and licensed in the State of Florida or willing to become licensed in the state of Florida
