VP, Market Research Operations & Production (Mass Media)

SmithGeiger is a market research and consulting firm serving all facets of the media industry. Our clients include a who’s who of broadcast networks, cable networks, Hollywood studios, television stations, production companies, videogame companies, and Internet companies. We work closely with our clients to provide actionable and insightful counsel that drives strategy and creative product.The position will take ownership of a variety of strategic initiatives which are confidential at this time. In addition, this individual will take responsibility for the research production process, seeking opportunities to make our delivery procedures more efficient, client-worthy, repeatable, profitable, and error-free. This position will also manage a team of production/delivery individuals and outside vendors who execute market research projects for our clients.
Client projects include: national, international, and local-market research projects for Hollywood studios, major cable channels, videogame publishers, technology companies, and new media/Internet companies.There are many opportunities for growth in our rapidly expanding company. REQUIREMENTS
Manage production processes:
•Responsible for the efficiency and effectiveness of our production process.
oProvide suggestions enhancing the quality of our output
oDevelop repeatability where appropriate
oIdentify and leverage process scalability
oEnterprise new approaches
Work with senior research staff to assign specific production team members to each projectManage field vendors:
•Responsible for interfacing with our vendor/partners in an effort to enhance their effectiveness on our behalf
oNegotiate lower fees based on historical and forecasted volume of work
oSupervise timelines and ensure deadlines are metManage production team:
•Responsible for a team of young, talented production individuals who work with our senior research staff to create client-ready presentations and research reports.
oCoach the production team into higher levels of output, while maintaining quality and delivery deadlines
oManage the individual careers of the production team to identify and nurture those individuals with superior attitude and skills worthy of advancementManage special projects - TBD
•Minimum of five years market research experience.
•Excellent writing, speaking, and analytical skills.
•Experience managing teams.
•Detail and process oriented.
•Excellent computer skills.•Working knowledge of statistics. Depth of experience with SPSS.
•An ability to manage multiple projects and to meet deadlines.
•Must work well with others and be motivating, inspirational and trustworthy.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelors or equivalent experience in Communications, Market Research, Business, Marketing or any related field.
