User Consultant - Supply Chain Management

This position will be primarily focused on supplier analysis and content (in the form of catalogs, punchout sites, and/or contract loading).

The role will also have responsibility to work with and augment the support staff who manage the PNCBuys Suite of Applications (PNCBuys, PNCTravel, PNC Spend Analysis, PNC T&E, PNCPays, and PNC Contracts) which are all built on Ariba softward.

The majority of this person’s time will be the coordination of ongoing supplier on-boarding projects, catalog management, business unit rollouts, programs to increase user adoption, and continuing enhancements to the applications. This person will report to the Director of SCM Operations, but will assist SCM’s Analysis Manager in regard to monthly exception reporting, as well as the Director of Accounts Payable due to the fact that many of the applications (PNCPays, T&E) will be cross-supported.

The candidate will need to have strong project management capabilities, be able to think strategically, and be able to understand applications from both the technical aspect as well as the end user’s perspective. This is not an MIS position, however, the candidate should be well versed in technology so that he/she will be able to competently represent SCM’s interests when making selections related to application functionality, design, and maintenance.

Another role is to maintain and support all operational aspects supporting PNC's Supply Chain Management organization. This position deals with a variety of technologies as well as business processes. The User Consultant must be able to understand the needs of both Supply Chain Management, as well as the lines of business that are our customers and PNC employees who are end users of the applications supported. Primary duties include user support, vendor management, and systems support. The incumbent must also ensure their job responsibilities are performed in a manner consistent with corporate and technology risk management standards.

Coordinates and leads the following tasks:
Work with the end users to obtain enhancement or new product requirements.
Create Scope documents and Business User Requirement documents.
Create User Training.
Develop User Acceptance test plans.
Perform testing.
Coordinate User Groups, Project teams and Executive ("oversight") committee meetings.
Create User Documentation.
Prioritize enhancements and/or system changes.
Coordinate user implementation.
Work with the vendor on vendor issues.
Coordinate vendor training.
Analyze new vendor products.
Coordinate conversions, migrations and implementation of new products.
Job Requirements
7-10 years of progressive management experience in a customer-centric information technology department.

Additional Preferred Skills:
Position directs self and co-workers to accomplish a wide-range of objectives. Strong customer service, training, problem solving skills are imperative. Ability to prepare and present strategies, initiatives, and results to management is a requirement. Incumbent must be strong in general management and understand financial/analytical analysis. The ability to grasp systems architecture concepts, combined with strong project management skills, is crucial.
