Urology/GI Sales Specialist, Brooklyn/Staten Island, NY

The Urology Sales Specialist is responsible for promoting Novartis products to office-based Gastroenterologists, Urologists, high-volume Primary Care Physicians and developing relationships with key personnel that are associated with the Brooklyn/Staten Island community/marketplace. Primary responsibilities will include, but not limited to: direct promotion of GI and Urology products, providing GI and Urology disease state education, coordinating co-promotion efforts with Mass Market Representatives, developing Key Opinion Leaders and thought leaders as speakers. The Associate will be responsible for a large geography and promotion of products to influential customers in their assigned territory. Other responsibilities will include preparing the market for anticipated product launches. Additional responsibilities include: Participating/leading account teams with Territory Representatives, Area Sales Manager, Regional Account Manager, and other key personnel to facilitate a coordinated Novartis effort within each account; assisting Area Sales Manager in developing office-based strategy for GI and Urology targets; implementing National and Area strategies for the product lines; acting as a resource person for district Territory Representatives by providing the latest published data and competitive information; maintaining complete and accurate records; controlling expenses; providing management complete and timely reports on accomplishments, follow-up, objectives for future calls; experience-ability to rapidly learn and master key products and markets in assigned therapeutic areas. Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree (preferably in Life Sciences, Pharmacy or Business related discipline).
Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated successful pharmaceutical sales experience.
Exceptional use of time management, planning, organizational and selling skills.
Experience/ability to quickly learn and master key products and markets in assigned therapeutic area.
Computer (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and hand held device literacy preferred.
Preferred Requirements:
Proven ability to gain access to Urologists and Gastroenterologists.
Demonstrated success of developing Key Opinion Leaders as speakers and ability to build productive and lasting customer relationships.
Strong ability to collaborate and work cross functionally with Regional Account Managers and Primary Care Representatives.
Knowledge of managed care and its impact on the market place.
Demonstrated successful urology and/or gastroenterology sales experience preferred.
