Travel Counselor I TINS - Garden City, NY

Responsible for providing travel services for American Express premium Cardmembers in a Travel Service Office environment. Travel Counselors are responsible for providing quality service, timely and accurate completion of leisure travel arrangements and the sale of value added services. Assisting Platinum and Centurion Cardmembers with all leisure travel needs including international and domestic leisure reservations is a primary responsibility. The candidate must be self-motivated and have the ability to perform in a team environment. This position requires flexibility to work various shifts as determined by customer call volumes and business needs.Job RequirementsMinimum of three (3) years experience selling Cruise, Tour and Leisure travel. Full service travel agency background preferred. SABRE computer reservations experience preferred and knowledge of Cruise Director a plus. Excellent domestic and international destination knowledge. Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced and changing environment coupled with an orientation for quality sales. Exceptional customer service skills are a must. This position required decisive and successful problem solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to use the internet effectively to service customer needs.Positions also available in:
