Therapist / Counselor
We're looking for a Master level Therapist and a Bachelor level Counselor
to provide individual, family, and group psychotherapy and develops specific treatment goals.

Responsibilities:

Documents appropriate clinical information in the medical record in a timely manner, according to DJJ policy.
Conducts individual and group therapy with all youth, and family therapy as appropriate.
Assesses youth needs and recognizes age specific needs and variations in methods used for care of youth of different age groups.
Develops and is responsible for the clinical content of the youth’s treatment plan.
Actively participates as a member of youth’s treatment team, and reviews youth’s progress.
Assists program staff in facilitating the therapeutic milieu.
Communicates with referral sources regarding clinical information, as necessary.
Communicates regularly with case managers, physician, or nursing staff regarding clinical issues.
Completes comprehensive social history assessments and other documentation, as required by DJJ standards & program policies.
Establishes and maintains good relationships with medical and professional staff.
Communicates appropriate information to program staff.
Seeks supervision when necessary and appropriate.
Maintains standards of professional and ethical conduct.
Attends staff development and in-service programs.
Serves as a role model by demonstrating qualities of service excellence through positive attitudes and behaviors.
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:
Bachelors Degree and 4 years experience or Masters Degree from an accredited University in the field of counseling, social work, psychology, rehabilitation, special education or a related human services field.
Must have satisfactory vision and hearing to adequately and efficiently perform the requirements of the position.
Must have the agility and coordination to participate in group activities.
Must be willing and able to assist in protecting youth from harming themselves and/or others in emergency situations.
Must be able to work under supervision of the Mental Health Authority of Gulf Coast Youth Academy (Clinical Director of Gulf Coast Treatment Center – LMHC); supervisor is available for weekly supervision; consultation; exercises discretion and makes independent decisions regularly; may train and/or orient new employees.
Maintains anger management/ARISE materials, including faxing roster weekly.
Conducts and maintains files on Treatment Outcomes testing. We have positions available at all our facilities in Fort Walton Beach, Milton and Crestview
