Systems Consultant

As a Systems Consultant with U.S. Bancorp Investments and Insurance, you will:


Perform as a senior .NET software engineer to achieve technical solutions for data-centric applications including Online Transaction Processing systems and Online Analytical Processing.

Work with and integrate various data systems to provide business intelligence.

Work with various departments throughout USBII including business line managers and users to understand business needs and system value for improvements and support, development requirements, and identify solutions.

Identify automated data and database solutions to increase business efficiencies and improve data integrity.

Work with ADS team members and communicate effectively on team wide projects. Document all processes and systems for audit purposes.

Adopt and adhere to software engineering practices that support the delivery of quality code and projects.

Provide data analysis, reports and information as requested.

Provide user training and support existing and new applications in a production environment when necessary.

Be able to step in as technical lead and architect as needed.
Job Requirements
While we expect that you’ll possess a strong basic skill set, including excellent communication and people skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team or independently, we also require:


That you are very comfortable and able to advise others on all aspects of Microsoft Development including .NET framework, C#, Visual Studio IDE and Visual Source Safe, SQL Server databases and DTS packages.

A strong understanding of relational database concepts, data normalization, data consistency and integrity.

The ability to apply these skills in a Microsoft SQL Server environment.

A strong understanding of Object-Orient design principals and distributed application architecture.

The ability to produce clean, refactored, quality code that adheres to coding guidelines.

Experience working with users to perform system analysis skills and define requirements.

The ability to work independently as well as with others on the team by exhibiting excellent communication skills and a performing as a team player.

Eight or more years of experience is typical.
