Systems Administrator

We are an engineering firm with a staff of 60 people currently seeking a Systems Administrator capable of supporting the operations of our user workstations and data center.

Responsibilities:
* Implementation and maintenance support with respect to facilities, servers, network, telephone systems, storage and backup solutions for the core infrastructure.
* On-going system documentation and knowledge transfer.
* Responding to service requests and meeting service level objectives.
* Managing changes, providing impact analysis, and support design updates to the data center infrastructure.
* Responsible for the installation, configuration and administration of a Windows 2003 server environment. Perform the day to day operational monitoring including disk space and capacity issues. Responsible for system management and system programming projects including system configuration, troubleshooting, security, resource monitoring, and the development of specialist programs.
* Managing and supporting moves, additions and changes for end clients (networking) and local staff (desktop system and cabling) from time to time.
* Design and deployment of an Exchange Server e-mail system, including spam management.
* Implementation and operation of internet / network management tools to both manage employee internet access and usage, and also provide central virus protection.
REQUIREMENTS
3-5 years experience with the following:

* Data Center Operations & associated critical systems management (UPS, Switches, and cabling)
* Network architectures (Cisco, TCP/IP, LAN, WAN)
* Desktop and server support (Microsoft Windows)
* Good communication, facilitation skills to various audiences
* Applicable certifications an asset
* Experience in the engineering industry preferred
* Associated degree required, however, a bachelor's degree is prefered
