System Software Consultant/Associate

Business Unit: GE HealthcareFunction: Information TechnologyResponsibilities: The primary focus of this position is customer support and interaction. You will draw upon technical expertise to resolve customer system related issues. The technical expertise is provided remotely to customers nationwide. The System Software Consultant/Assoc provides system support and trouble-shooting to our clients. This person must have an understanding of Systems Administration, networking concepts and have strong customer interaction skills.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: Must possess excellent customer service and organization skills. Candidate must possess technical background related to operating systems and database products supported by Centricity Business Services. Minimum 1 year experience with OpenVMS and/or AIX operating system. Working knowledge of Windows operating system. Experience with storage subsystem configuration and volume shadowing. Experience with Cache database product or other Mumps platform such as ISM or DSM. Working knowledge of TCP/IP protocols. Understanding of LAN and WAN configuration principles. Ability to work independently with customers to resolve technical issues. Must be able to assume after-hours on-call for a week at a time multiple weeks during the year. Must be a skilled multi-tasker and able to work effectively without supervision and with a high level of accuracy with attention to detail.Desired: Associate degree in Computer Science or Information Management.
