Support Analyst Level 3: TSQL, SQL 2005, OLAP/Siebel

An experienced Support Analyst is needed at the Software Giant in Redmond, Washington to perform the following Job Responsibilities:

Technical Functions:
Performs complex problem solving, determination and resolution of Application-related issues.
Understanding of multi-tiered application technology.
Provide advice and input to software development lifecycle process including, but not inclusive: Environment Architecture, Backup/Recovery Strategies, Data Migration and Security.
Demonstrated ability in working and implementing leading edge technology in a large environment.
Provide assistance in resolving and tracking issues with production applications.
Coordinate with customer and other service providers on new customer and service rollouts.
Provide at-desk Production Support of IT-XIT MMS Production Applications between the standard hours of 9:00am – 6:00pm M-F. After hours on-call and occasional weekend work is likely.


Administrative Functions:
Work with management and other service leads to provide comprehensive reporting across the MMS service offerings.
Provide world-class service to MMS customers and the other MMS service teams.
Ability to implement enterprise wide strategy for supporting world-wide Production applications and environments.
Commitment to identifying process improvements with a focus on world-wide Application availability and support.
Provide reports that measure the quality and quantity of work performed.
Provides input to Manager that will help streamline and improve consistency in service levels.

Project Functions:Lead/participate in small to medium projects and participate in medium to large projects dealing with leading edge technology.

Requirements:



The Support Engineer in this position, must have the following required skills:Key Skills (listed in order of importance):
Communication & cross-team collaboration.
Familiarity with SSIS (SQL 2005 data transformation)
Experience with OLAP technology and concepts
Highly skilled with Transact-SQL (T-SQL)
Specialized Knowledge: Excellent understanding of Microsoft Windows 2000/2003 operating system, IIS5/6 and SQL 2000
2 to 4 years of experience in three of the following technical disciplines:
Siebel Analytics and OLAP reporting technologies.
SQL skills: SQL Administration, SQL performance tuning, SQL data analysis, T-SQL stored procedure analysis/troubleshooting, Database implementation, db internals, SQL 2005 data integration services (SSIS)
Microsoft Windows 2000/2003 operating systems
Web-based skills
IIS Site Administration
Familiarity with multi-tiered applications design/support
Familiarity with HTML , CSS, ASP, ASP.NET, VBScript, Javascript.
Multi-tiered Applications
Tier 2 or 3 Production Support managing enterprise application, or equivalent expertise is preferred.

Experience in any of the following optional technical disciplines is beneficial, but not required:
SMS/Packaging technologies
Active Directory technologies
Infrastructure / Network Administration
Development - ASP, C#, XML, .NET, etc.
Windows scripting experience

Education, Degrees or Certifications needed and years required: College Degree preferred, MCSE preferred

Bonus Skills - These are not the required skills. These skills are considered “nice to have skills”:
4 year college degree in Computer Sciences or equivalent work experience - MCSE is preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Minimum two years of Tier 2 or 3 Production Support or two years of Enterprise Application Development, or equivalent expertise
Experience with relational database management systems and client-server technologies
Demonstrated ability in defining and implementing process improvements with a focus on leading edge technology
Demonstrated ability in handling complex technical issues and providing timely solutions
Demonstrated ability to define and follow best practices and business processes
Strong customer service skills
