Software Build Engineer Ant/NAnt JAVA C# .NET

Software Build Engineers - Ant/NAnt, C#, SQL, XML, .NET, Visual Studio, Windows and Java

This is a high-profile company in Beaverton, Oregon who is looking to bring a Build Engineer onboard to automate a lot of old processes. There is a lot of room for growth in this company! This position will be a part of the release engineering team and will build and deploy to the test environment. This is not a traditional build environment as deployment to the web is the goal!

Candidate will be:
Working along side another Senior Build Engineer.
Managing, maintaining and automating all areas of the build process.
Working with QA, Dev and User Assistance to configure and deploy build environments and configure test, sandbox and staging servers for new builds.
Creating new and maintaining existing, build tools and build automation scripts to deploy builds across multiple servers.
Maintaining scriptable C# assemblies/DLL’s/libraries used in their build deployment and automation scripts (JavaScript)
Having the opportunity to write code.
Managing the source tree, source code and build processes.
Managing build requests, checking that changes made it in to a build and making sure nothing made it in that shouldn’t.
Managing branches (create/delete/update), making fixes and deploying hotfixes from one branch into another branch.
Managing Out of band requests (This is a common thing).
Participating in critical hotfix builds and deployments.
Deploying SQL scripts to production, test and staging servers.
Troubleshooting out of band schema change delta rollout issues.

This is an estimated 6 months contract with the likelihood for conversion for strong fit/performers and expecting to last from the second week of September until November 2006. Requirements:



This Software Build Engineer must have:
2-3 years build experience.
Strong understanding of release processes as it relates to web projects.
Experience building .NET C# and/or Java applications (web focused).
Expertise in source control management and/or configuration management.
Experience using XML based build tools (Ant, NAnt, MSBuild, etc.)
Experience using Make to build applications.
Experience using NAnt to build .NET applications.
Experience using Ant to build Java applications.
Experience using Visual Studio.
Experience building web applications for the Windows platform.
Experience using revision/version control systems such as ClearCase, RCS, CVS, DCVS, Perforce, BitKeeper, Subversion, Source Depot.
Strong understanding of build concepts such as branching, merging, labeling.
Experience programming in C#.
A development background.
Experience writing JavaScript to automate the build process
Experience using WSH, Bash, Batch, Console, CScript, WScript to create batch processes and scripts.
Experience running SQL scripts to update SQL Servers in production, test and staging servers.
