Social Worker

Social Services Opening at the Lotus House shelter for homeless women. You will counsel, guide and assist women in accessing services and resources to empower them to fulfill their action plans for improved quality of life, greater self sufficiency and transition to alternate independent or supported permanent housing. Your services will include, without limitation, (i) creating accessible resource data banks, including a resource handbook on medical, dental, mental health, employment, housing, financial assistance and other benefits and services; (ii) establishing networks, alliances and working relationships between the Foundation and other community organizations for accessing available services and resources in the community; (iii) counseling, educating, and advising women on available services and resources to enable them to fulfill their action plans; (iv) providing individual counseling and case assistance as needed and referrals to other community organizations to enable women to access available resources and services in implementing their action plans; and (v) tracking and reporting individual progress toward the fulfillment of their action plans and the utilization of social services programs and resource. A bachelorĀ?s or masterĀ?s degree in social work required. Must have prior experience working with homelessness and women in the Miami area. Independent contract position preferred.
