Senior Systems Administrator

Candidate's primary responsibility must be to maintain current Operating System Standards for current and future Windows NT/2000/2003 and VMWare Infrastructure, Internet/Intranet and Application systems. Candidate will support the development, implementation and troubleshooting of system functionality as it relates to monthly patch updates and standard system software updates.

Related responsibilities typically include the following: Modify, maintain, improve, and troubleshoot existing systems. Perform recovery of hardware and software. Evaluate current systems, processes, and workflow; consult with client to streamline and improve same. Analyze and resolve operating systems and applications issues on various systems. Generate and maintain reports and documentation. Coordinate resource usage in a large production environment to facilitate process efficiency and project turnover. Provide consultation and guidance to management and end users regarding the planning of future additions, modifications, and site developments. Provide direct liaison with the Customer for all technical discussions and issues. May manage intermediate or associate level administrators. Provide 24 X 7 on call functionality for issues escalated to Tier 3.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Experience supporting IT infrastructure in a large organization Windows NT / 2000 / 2003 and VMWARE ESX Server Administration. Ability to troubleshoot complex Windows NT / 2000 / 2003 and VMWARE ESX Server issues. Strong knowledge of all Intel based servers, Dell, HP, IBM, etc, and components. Strong Basic Networking Skills. Microsoft Certification required (MCP, MCSA or MCSE). VMWARE Certification a plus. Knowledgeable of third party support utilities such as Legato Enterprise Backup, CA TNG Unicenter, McAfee Viruscan, Symantec Enterprise Security Manager and Symantec Intruder Alert.
